Juventus vs Cesena – European Football Weekly – Serie A 2011-2012 Preview

Posted under current soccer

Current Serie A table toppers Juventus host Cesena in Calccio’s Matchday 14!

Juventus have been on fire the last few weeks winning 4 matches in a row till they faced a tough visit to Naples, where they were able to overcome a 2 goal deficit to take a point home in what was a thrilling encounter.

Cesena are sitting in 19 place with a mere 9 points, however since they sacked their coach Marco Giampaolo and brought on Daniele Arrigoni they have won their last 3 matches and have certainly looked all the more solid.

Aston Villa vs Manchester United – European Football Weekly – Premier League 2011-2012 Preview

Posted under current soccer

Current Premier League champions Manchester United visit Aston Villa for Matchday 14 of the EPL!

Villa is currently 8th in the standings with 16 points and have been on pretty poor form the last few weeks, winning only 1 out of their last 5 matches. More tellingly though, they have yet to win a single away match this season with 5 draws and 2 losses to their name.

Man U, however, also seem to be going through a slump of their own. Though they haven’t been losing, they have only been able to score 1 goal in their last 5 matches vs English teams, including Wednesday’s Extra Time loss vs Crystal Palace in the Carling Cup.

Patrick Vieira Greatest Goals

Posted under best soccer moments

Arsene Wenger spotted Patrick Vieira playing for AC Milan as a substitute and was blown away by the power and skill he possessed. When asked to sign for Arsenal, Vieira couldn’t refuse. He immediately became a dominating force in England. Not known for his goals, Vieira is a catalyst for holding midfielders today. At 6’4, he is tall enough to win any header in the midfield. His great tackling ability and his will to win also made him one of the greatest ever. That will to win is what gave him the honor of playing as Arsenal’s captain. Not only was he strong, but had immaculate vision and passing, especially for his role. Patrick Vieira transformed the holding midfielder role forever and is an Arsenal legend. Rate and comment please.
