David Beckham is Galaxy’s New Star

Posted under current soccer

The 31 year old, Beckham, is now looking to leave Real Madrid before the end of the season and before the expiration of his current contract with Real Madrid that expires in June. Beckham is eager to leave Spain and head towards the US.

Fabio Capello, Real Madrid’s coach has taken Beckham off of the team and assured that he will not play with the team in what rests of his stay in Spain. Capello’s resolution was based on the fact that in his opinion you cannot depend on a player who has been contracted by another team.

The MLS season starts in April and Coach Frank Yallop is looking forward to having Beckham as his midfield general being that he feels that is where he will be more efficient. Yallop accentuated the significance of making a good start during the first three months of the season before Beckham joins the club that is if he stays in Madrid and does not join the club before the beginning of the season. Yallop is also sure that he will give Galaxy a big turnaround and that Beckham will be an outstanding role model for younger players.

Beckham is one of England’s stars and has been a very successful soccer player since the start of his career back in 1995 when he was only nineteen years old. He has received various awards and trophies among being ranked within the top 100 players in the world according to the FIFA.

Mercedes-benz Launched an Integrated Campaign Ad for the C-class With the Slogan "c-for Yourself"

Posted under current soccer

In the news: Mercedes-Benz— the German brand of automobiles, trucks, buses, coaches and auto parts such as the Mercedes brake dust shields — is starting a comprehensive integrated marketing campaign to promote the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class which will be made available in the market on March 31, 2007. The whole marketing campaign will use the slogan “C-for Yourself” which will be communicated through several channels to support the sales launch of the highest volume model series of Mercedes-Benz.

The main objective of the campaign is not only to promote but more of convince customers around the world of the various advantages that can be derived out from the versatile product concept behind the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan which includes outstanding comfort, agility and safety and its two-distinct front-end designs.

Dr. Olaf Gottgens, Vice President Brand Communications Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars, said, “Our objective for this campaign is to motivate customers to experience for themselves the superior driving culture offered by the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class. All communication measures for the C-Class are therefore geared toward direct contact with our customers and potential buyers. Along with our tried advertising methods, we will also be focusing strongly on various forms of direct communication for the C-Class, to be implemented at exclusive driving events. These measures will be accompanied by a C-Class Mobile marketing Special, a presentation within Second Life and Interactive films on the internet — innovative platforms that will enable us to reach existing and potential customers of our brand in a targeted manner.”

The BBDO France is the one that is tasked to develop the integrated campaign for the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class. BBDO makes sure that they have considered all aspect of the would-be market of the Mercedes C-Class which includes domestic and international markets. The new lead agency Jung von Matt is leading the campaign for Mercedes-Benz in Germany using the slogan “C-for Yourself”.

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class campaign will rev up on April 2, 2007 with the launching of its advertisements on magazines and newspapers with high circulations. And just like most of the other communication tools, the print ads will invite customers to test drive a white Mercedes-Benz C-Class Avantgarde model that is equipped with the AMG sports package. Likewise, a 30 to 40 second television commercial will be broadcasted on all public and commercial stations throughout Germany and will feature the current Formula 1 world champion race car driver Fernando Alonso who will describe the remarkable handling qualities of the new C-Class. The ending of the commercial was made rather symbolic when Alonso driver of the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Formula 1 team hands over the keys to a new C-Class to the audience inviting them to test drive the vehicle and to see for themselves what the sedan has to offer. The gesture of handing over the keys is repeated in the rest of the campaign ads as a motivating element.

For the German market, the primary Mercedes-Benz C-class campaign will be backed up by extensive retail marketing measures, outdoor ads, radio commercials and stadium advertising during the soccer matches of the German national team.

Euro Beach Soccer League Stage 2 — BERLIN (GER) Portugal vs Turkey

Posted under current soccer

Match 2: Turkey 3 vs. 6 Portugal

Four goals by Belchior were an unbearable blow for enthusiasts Turkey in Portuguese ‘premiere’ at current Euro Beach Soccer Season. With Coimbra and Duarte to complete the effort, the Iberian secured the first place in the Division A group for today, with the same points and goal difference than Russia, but having hit the net once more. Even though, the big news could be that Portuguese Monster Madjer did not have his name on the count today, something really unusual…

0-2 up by the end of first period seemed to point that there was little the newcomers could do against the Champions. But it was. A lot, indeed, as Tamer and Kerem highlighted with the equalizer by mid second period, voicing that anything could happen. The Turkish were set to earn their first Division A points, no matter who the opponent was. But the only reward they found for their cheekiness was two new hits by Belchior that made it 2-4 at the end of the second leg.

Kerem would try the climbing again, but his enthusiasm would not be so further appreciated this time, since Coimbra’s free kick would hit the post and go in to cut any Turkish expectation. Just two minutes later, Portuguese hero today, Belchior, would complete his goal-poker to raise the Lusitanians to the top of the table in the Division A of this Euro Beach Soccer League — Berlin 2011.

Goals: 0-1: Belchior, min. 8 (1); 0-2: Duarte, min. 2 (1); 2-1: Tamer, min. 11 (2); 2-2: Kerem, min. 7 (2); 2-3: Belchior, min. 4 (2); 2-4: Belchior, min. 4 (2); 3-4: Kerem, min. 10 (3); 3-5: Coimbra, min. 8 (3); 3-6: Belchior, min. (6).

Collecting Coca-cola Memorabilia – Truly a Family Affair

Posted under current soccer

In these fast moving times with video games and computers enticing children of all ages, it can be tough to get your kids to play outside with friends, let alone to do something together with their family. Having something that families like to do together is a good thing and collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia fits that bill for many families quite nicely.

At first it might seem surprising that “collecting” could be something that could bring a family together and not be something that one generation is simply enduring for the benefit of the other. But that is where collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia is almost unique. Because Coke has been around for so long, it spans the generations so that there is truly something for everyone. Those who love antiques have their older Coke memorabilia to look for and learn about and those who like keeping current and are fans of pop-culture have limited edition collectibles being released in current times. Not only does Coke’s past give an opportunity for history to be learned, Coke’s life today gives parents an opportunity to stay current with their kids as they learn about what’s hot today and what’s not. There is also something for just about every time in between!

There are many unexpected “treasures” to be found in having collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia as your family’s hobby. Not only does it provide the obvious time together when tracking down that special item, but it fosters communication about a common topic as well as an opportunity for practicing and improving reading and research skills while learning about Coke’s history and their different memorabilia items. There are possibilities of meeting others involved in the hobby as well by becoming part of a Collectors group locally or in the nearest big city also providing an opportunity for developing social skills and being exposed to people from different places. And although it leads back to the computer, doing some connecting with Collector groups on the Internet can encourage pen pals with a common (and safe!) interest as collector friendships build across the globe.

Some families also use their collecting as a great way to choose vacation destinations. Where will Coca-Cola be releasing their newest collectible item? At the 50 year anniversary of Disneyland? What a great excuse to pack up and go on a roadtrip! There is a new production facility opening in Texas? What a great way to learn about what happens behind the scenes of your family’s hobby than to include a visit there in an upcoming trip. Of course there is always The World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta, Georgia as an attraction unto itself.

And in a topic closer to home, collecting can also be an opportunity to learn the value of money. Although this can be an extremely affordable hobby, saving for a particular big ticket item that somebody would like to have in their collection sets a good example of what it takes to earn and save. Everyone can also learn responsibility of having to care for their collection, depending of course on what their particular Coca-Cola memorabilia of choice to collect might be. There might be dusting, or cleaning or hanging involved that also adds skills to the treasure chest.

Even those family members who may not seem as anxious to get involved might find some curiosity in specializing in a particular area of interest. Are they a soccer fan? How about collecting only soccer related Coke items? There are virtually endless possibilities of the specialties that can exist within Coca-Cola memorabilia. Pin-up girls of days gone by, Olympic related, sporting event limited editions, the Coke Polar Bears, Christmas items, and on and on. There is bound to be something that can spark a bit of interest and get everyone included in their own way.

Throughout the years, just as your family will grow and go in different directions as their interests develop and lives unfold, there will be memories and a common thread that you all will have. And the hobby can change and develop with you. The items collected may change as childhood fancies evolve into more mature interests. “Investing” in collectibles isn’t always just for monetary gain although that is a nice possibility. Collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia seems to include many other paybacks and to bring unexpected treasures to your door. It may be a stretch, but wouldn’t it be nice to be able to say “Families that Collect Coke together stay together?”
